Clinical Significance:

Elevations are found in cardiac diseases including myocardial infarction, liver diseases including cirrhosis and alcoholism, neoplasia, mononucleosis, hypothyroidism, lung diseases, diseases of central nervous system, infections, inflammatory states, hemolytic anemia, megaloblastic anemia including pernicious anemia, and muscular damage.
